Civic Program Officer / Senior Program Officer, CVO Recruitment, Vilnius

Our client – National Democratic Institute (NDI) is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-governmental organization that works in partnership around the world to strengthen and safeguard democratic institutions, processes, norms, and values to secure a better quality of life for all. NDI envisions world where democracy and freedom prevail, with dignity for all. Established International Non-Governmental Organization based in Vilnius is seeking a Civic Program / Senior Program Officer.

What will be your key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to managing day-to-day implementation of NDIs Civic program;
  • Contribute to the forward planning process for the program and support the cross-team coordination and collaboration;
  • Contribute to the programs short/medium and long term strategy development and implementation;
  • Develop and manage relationships and regular communication with program partners and with vendors, consultants;
  • Contribute to monitoring partners activities within the program, identifying challenges and opportunities and contributing to solutions to support partners and help achieve program goals;
  • Contribute to the development of program documents concept papers, project proposals, work plans, M&E plans and reports;
  • Contribute to drafting, reviewing, amending and managing contracts and subgrants with partners under the assigned program;
  • Ensure compliance of program expenses with established financial and operational policies and procedures;
  • Contribute to the development of briefing materials for staff, external consultants and program partners;
  • Coordinate and organize logistics for events, including online and offline trainings, consultations and workshops.

What experience should you have:

  • Bachelors Degree in sociology, political sciences, communications, international relations or a related field required; graduate degree preferred;
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the field of civil society, politics, communications, information environment or media landscape is highly preferred;
  • Demonstrated interest and knowledge in international relations, media, civil society and/or regional politics;
  • Management and leadership skills in order to lead, inspire and motivate colleagues;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills, and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Ability to work in an organized manner, meet deadlines and work both individually and in a team;
  • Working knowledge of Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive, G+, etc.);
  • Fluency in English and Russian is required (knowledge of Belarusian is an advantage).
